1. Enhance fluency and sophistication in spoken interaction
This objective focuses on moving beyond basic communication towards nuanced, accurate, and expressive language use. Through debates, discussions, and short presentations, participants will learn to structure arguments logically, use linking devices effectively, and adapt their tone and register to different situations. Attention will also be given to pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation to achieve more natural and confident speech. By the end of the week, teachers will be able to express opinions, negotiate meaning, and respond spontaneously in complex interactions, reflecting a clear step toward C1 proficiency.
2. Develop advanced listening skills and intercultural understanding
Participants will train their ears to comprehend extended spoken discourse, such as lectures, interviews, and authentic materials that include a variety of accents. The course will provide strategies for identifying subtle meanings, implied attitudes, and specific details within a fast-paced or abstract discussion. Teachers will also explore how language reflects culture and communication styles, enhancing their capacity to understand and interact effectively in multicultural contexts. This improvement in listening will not only support their personal development but also enrich their teaching practice when guiding students through authentic English input.
3. Refine accuracy in grammar and expand academic and professional vocabulary
At the B2 level, the focus shifts from learning new structures to mastering how and when to use them effectively. Teachers will review complex grammar points—such as conditionals, passive forms, and modal nuances—to increase precision in both written and spoken communication. The vocabulary component will target academic and professional registers, including classroom management, educational topics, and broader social issues. Through targeted exercises and contextualized practice, participants will strengthen their ability to communicate with clarity, subtlety, and confidence.
4. Integrate advanced communicative techniques into classroom teaching
The course also aims to empower teachers to incorporate English more effectively in their pedagogical practice. Participants will explore methodologies that encourage active student participation, such as communicative tasks, peer collaboration, and project-based learning—all delivered in English. They will practice giving complex instructions, providing constructive feedback, and facilitating classroom discussions in the target language. By the end of the course, teachers will not only have improved their own language competence but also acquired strategies to create a more immersive and authentic English environment for their students.
